Meet the Team

 

Patterson McKinlay

As a Principal of Achieve Retirement, Patterson McKinlay is dedicated to helping plan sponsors understand their fiduciary responsibilities by promoting a streamlined and turnkey process that allows the business owner and H.R. Manager to focus on creating a more successful and profitable business while spending less time on the management of their retirement plan.

 

Through the implementation industry best practices and regular investment committee meetings, Patterson is able to partner with employers to provide support, expertise and understanding to every retirement plan he serves.

 

Passionate and driven, Patterson believes that every employee has the right to retire and he is dedicated in helping every employee to realize their retirement goals and dreams.

 

With more than 10 years’ experience helping companies with defined contribution plans, Patterson is one of only ten professionals in Colorado to successfully attain the AIFA designation as of 1/1/2016. Focused on fee disclosure, plan benchmarking and mutual fund analytics he is able to identify design strategies to promote optimal plan utilization and increased participation and employee retirement readiness rates.

 

Patterson holds his Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series 7, 24 + 63 registrations with LPL Financial, and his Series 65 registration with Global Retirement Partners, and has attained the Colorado Life, Health and Property and Casualty licenses. Patterson graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BS in Management and received an MBA in eCommerce.

 

Originally born and raised in England, Patterson now lives in Parker, Colorado with his wife and three kids. Patterson is an active soccer coach in his local community and enjoys the beautiful Colorado outdoors.

 


 

Cyndie Hodges

Cyndie Hodges is an Advisor who specializes in partnering with plan sponsors to design a plan which is current with regulatory requirements while offering features important to employees- helping them be retirement ready and knowledgeable.

 

She believes a successful retirement plan is one with flexible plan design and a solid fund line up needing only minor adjustments over time.

 

Cyndie has 18 years experience helping clients with 401k, 403b, and 457 plans as well as Simple IRA accounts. Her clients have come to depend on her regulatory knowledge and audit support. She is committed to helping her clients educate their employees while helping them outline reasonable strategies for pursuing a comfortable retirement.

 

Prior to becoming an advisor, Cyndie worked as an emergency medical technician on a 24 hour ambulance for 10 years. Her passion is helping people whether that means saving their life or helping them seek a secure comfortable retirement.

 

Cyndie holds her Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series 6, 63, 65 and 26 registrations with LPL Financial as well as her Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS) designation from the College of Financial Planning. She also holds her Accident, Life and Health Insurance and Annuity licenses in the state of Colorado and Kansas.

 

Cyndie lives in Denver Colorado with her husband and five of their eight kids.  She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, roller-blading and exploring the world of photography when she is not quilting or working with clients. She served on the planning committee for the Lupus Foundation for 2 years and volunteered at the 9 Health Fair for over 7 years. Cyndie and her family do annual fundraising for the American Heart Association and Children’s Hospital in honor of her youngest son who had open heart surgery at age 6.

 


 

John Odell

John N.E. Odell, LUTCF has been working in the retirement plan industry since the late 1980’s. John had his firm Odell & Associates, LLC which specialized in the planning, implementation and servicing of employer sponsored 401(K) plans. He previously held Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Series 6 and 63 registrations. In June of 2016, John sold his 401(K) planning firm to Achieve Retirement and now serves as a Marketing Associate servicing his clients and their plan participants.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Kim Patterson

Kim Patterson joined Achieve Retirement February 2017. Kim’s role focuses on supporting the plan sponsor and employees by assisting and educating them with their retirement plan.

 

She is passionate about investing and sharing her investment knowledge with employees to help them understand the importance of saving for retirement. Kim discovered her passion for investing at her first job out of college as a customer service representative for Janus Mutual Funds. She educated investors regarding risk tolerance, fund objectives, performance and suitable types of investment accounts. She is proud to say she started investing for her retirement at an early age and looks forward to the day when she can retire comfortably.

 

Prior to joining Achieve Retirement, Kim was the Director of Benefits Operations for Moody Insurance Agency focusing on employee benefits for the last 14 years. She worked closely with internal and external clients to ensure the highest level of customer service was provided to meet their needs.

 

Kim has earned designations of Group Benefit Disability Specialist and Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. She also has her Accident, Health and Insurance license in the state of Colorado. Kim graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Business Management. She is in the process of obtaining her financial licenses.

 

Kim lives in Lakewood Colorado with her husband and their two girls. She is a Colorado native that enjoys the outdoors by camping, hiking, biking, running, skiing and golfing as a family.

 

 


 

Thomas Little

Thomas Little is a financial associate at Achieve Retirement. He specializes in creating innovative processes that improve efficiency and accuracy within the company. Thomas is dedicated to make sure every customer is first priority. Currently, he is studying for his series 7. He plans to obtain his series 7, 66 and CFA in the near future.

 

He graduated a semester early from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a finance major and a minor in information systems. His passion for finance came from him playing his first game of Monopoly. Thomas has never looked back after that moment.

 

Although Thomas might be young, he is willing to put in the time and effort to learn the industry inside and out. He is dedicated to become an expert in the financial industry.

 

Thomas was born and raised in Colorado. He is proud and honored to be a native to this fantastic state. While he is not working, he enjoys snowboarding on the local mountains and scuba diving in Mexico.
